If PR had its own holiday, Valentine’s Day would be a top contender. Why? Because public relations, when done well, is about spreading the love. I regularly meet with friends from the PR industry to network and share ideas. Last Sunday, a group of us met at a favorite cafe that adjoins a trendy home design store. After the lattes, I signed up to take an art class to make gifts for people. I was enticed by the huge tables filled with natural items to make into something fabulous. Although MoonPR is not typically a DIY blog, I wanted you to walk away with a fun gift idea you can make for yourself or others, especially since Valentine’s Day is around the corner.
Last year I also attended a workshop for making Valentine’s wreaths. I am back at it again. Terrain in Westport, CT offers so many cool classes. This year, I made a succulent garden. I selected a heart shaped container and filled 1/2 with Growstone, then soil, and some gravel on top for beauty. Those of you who know me are probably laughing right now because I don’t have a green thumb.
Happy Valentine’s Day (if you choose to celebrate it)! This year, my husband and I are going on a “cruise to nowhere” for two nights on one of the largest ships ever made. Although we won’t have a destination, going nowhere is a nice diversion from the 20 degree weather we’re experiencing in the northeast right now. It’s sort of a goofy thing to do, but I’m looking forward to going “out to sea” for relaxation, Cirque du Soleil performances and questionably good food.
