Do you know what kinds of posts tend to do best on social media? Visual posts: photos, video. But most importantly, things that tell visual stories. Among the biggest fun challenges when working with a new public relations client is taking the disparate pieces of their brand and story and finding common threads. One branding thread is color.
Recently, I embarked on a seven-week photo journey with a community of like-minded bloggers, led by Xanthe and Andrea. We focused on taking photos of one color per week. We displayed our images on Instagram and Twitter. It’s great to see what others around the world are seeing during their summer months. My friends in Australia are viewing winter colors at the moment. So take a look at my blue, yellow, pink, green, red, orange and purple photo collages below. I think I have to take a break and take some images in black and white for a bit. Only kidding.
Some take their color VERY seriously. For example, Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, selects a color each year. They comb the world looking for infuences. Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014 is Radiant Orchid. Take a look at this:
“Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple …”
Oh my. My purples are at the end of this post.
Thank you so much Xanthe Berkeley and Andrea Corrona Jenkins for the very special color//colour lovers.
