This & That: A Gold Cup, A Classic Horse Show, & Paros, Greece

Journeys

this & that

My “this and that” posts bring together three disparate things. In this one, I’m capturing beauty as I see it–horses and their riders at two different horse shows, flowers and travel to Paros, Greece.

The American Gold Cup

The American Gold Cup is a beautiful fall horse show in Westchester County, just an hour outside of New York City. It is one of the most prestigious equestrian sporting events in the world of International Show Jumping. I’m running about with my press credential on, snapping photos of the beauty. I’m really taken by the flowers suddenly. You will notice below.

A teaser from Paros, Greece

I am still in awe of my recent trip to Greece to participate in a photography workshop in Paros and then on to Santorini with my husband. Those photos are still in a *creative process (meaning I have other events to post first). In the meantime, what fun to look at my Instagram stories, those 9×16 photos that disappear in just 24 hours. It seems to be all the rage now. While in Paros I created quick “insta” stories, and I have included some photo captures of them here. Consider this a teaser for what is to come.

the summer’s hampton classic

My end of summer event, The Hampton Classic Horse Show is a regular highlight of my year. I love working with this great team (led by my friends at Classic Communications) in Bridgehampton, Long Island, New York. The flowers and the horses of course, always get me. And as you’ll see from the final photo, I am proud of the spread in The New York Times Sunday Style section. The photographs in the paper were taken by Rebecca Smeyne. Enjoy!
